Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome

Patellofemoral pain syndrome (also known as Runner’s Knee or Jumper’s Knee) is a broad term used to describe pain in the front of the knee and around the patella/kneecap. The pain and stiffness it causes can make it difficult to move about and even carry out daily activities due to the inflammation or overuse of the soft tissues that the Patella-Femoral joint capsule to damage.

  • Pain at front knee
  • Severe pain during activities and after prolonged sitting
  • Popping or cracking sound when you move your knee after it is stationary for some time
