Piriformis Syndrome

Piriformis syndrome is a condition where the piriformis muscle (around the buttocks) spasms and causes pain. The piriformis muscle can also irritate the nearby sciatic nerve and cause pain, numbness and tingling along the back of the leg and into the foot.

  • Dull aching pain in the buttocks
  • Pain down the leg (thigh, calf and foot)
  • Pain during climbing of stairs or slopes
  • Pain heightens during prolonged sitting
  • Obstruct in functionality of the leg
