Ankle Sprain

 

An ankle sprain refers to a tear in the ligaments of an ankle. The most common ankle sprain occurs on the outside (lateral) part of the ankle. It is a common injury which affects many people during a wide variety of activities. It can occur in situations where there is an ankle fracture.

 

 

  • Pain and swelling
  • Bruising
  • Difficulty in bearing weight on foot (Depends on the degree of injury)
  • Stiffness
