Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction (SI Joint Pain)

Dysfunction in the sacroiliac joint, or SI joint, is thought to cause low back and/or leg pain. The leg pain can be particularly difficult, and may feel similar to sciatica or pain caused by a lumbar disc herniation.

  • Aching pain in the lower back,  the back of of the hips, groin or thighs
  • Pain is more severe when standing or walking
  • Stiffness and/or burning sensation in the pelvis

We will firstly examine the issue and provide further assistance and guidance to give you our best advices and treatments for you.

Treatments include pain relief modalities such as ultrasound and muscle stimulation, heat therapy, stretching and massage.

Most of the time, circumstances like this just require a physiotherapist for assured recovery. However, if it is one of the rarer cases where signs and symptoms are not improving and unresolved, you may be referred back to the doctors for consultation and further investigation.
